From 1 February 2026, some Companies House fees will be increasing. We wanted to highlight these changes so you’re aware of what’s coming and how it may affect you.
The updated digital filing fees will be:
- Company incorporation: £100
- Confirmation statement: £50
- Voluntary strike-off: £13
Companies House has published a full list of all fee changes that will apply from this date.
Being registered with Companies House continues to offer significant benefits, including limited liability, improved access to credit, greater flexibility when raising capital, and enhanced business credibility. Even with these increases, Companies House fees remain low when compared internationally.
The income from these fees is used to fund company incorporation services and to maintain publicly accessible company information that plays a vital role in the UK economy.
Fees also support the expanded powers introduced under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency (ECCT) Act, which allow Companies House to challenge and remove false or misleading information from the register. This work helps protect legitimate businesses and consumers while tackling misuse of the UK’s corporate system.
In addition, part of the fee income supports the Insolvency Service, enabling them to investigate companies, take enforcement action, disqualify directors, and prosecute individuals involved in fraud or other financial wrongdoing.
Looking ahead, Companies House is continuing to modernise its services and strengthen enforcement efforts. This includes investing in more staff, better tools, and faster ways to identify and act against fraudulent activity. From 18 November 2025, compulsory identity verification was also introduced to ensure that individuals setting up or running companies, are who they say they are.
Overall, these changes are aimed at creating a more transparent and trustworthy business environment, supporting legitimate companies and helping the UK remain one of the best places in the world to start and grow a business.
